Victron Energy Battery Monitor BMV-700
The Victron Energy Battery Monitor BMV-700 is a precision instrument designed to accurately track the status and performance of a battery or battery bank. Acting as a “fuel gauge” for your energy storage, it provides detailed readouts including voltage, current, amp hours used, state of charge percentage, power draw, total energy throughput, and estimated time remaining until discharge.
It uses a high-accuracy shunt installed in-line on the battery’s negative connection, with the monitor powered from the positive terminal via a fused lead. The unit can be mounted in a panel using the included round or square bezel, with a single RJ12 cable linking it to the shunt’s onboard circuit board. Configuration is handled through an easy-to-navigate menu system.
The BMV-700 automatically detects the system’s nominal voltage, recalibrates itself whenever the battery is fully charged, and offers both audible and visual alarms. An integrated relay can be triggered under alarm conditions, allowing connection to external devices for automated responses.
