Duracell
Duracell is one of the leading brands of batteries in the UK market. Praised for its long-lasting power, it’s one of the most popular choices for AAA, AA, C, D, and 9v batteries.
Duracell primarily supplies alkaline batteries for the consumer market, but it also sells specialty cells, lithium, and rechargeable NiMh batteries. Duracell batteries are instantly recognisable for their distinctive copper branding. Customers know they’re getting a battery that meets Duracell’s high standards and lasting power.
History of Duracell batteries
Duracell’s beginnings started back in the 1920s when a scientist named Samuel Ruben teamed up with a manufacturer called Philip Rogers Mallory. By pairing Ruben’s expertise with Mallory’s manufacturing experience, they designed batteries that would form the start of Duracell International.
In the 1960s, the company’s first alkaline batteries were sold under the Mallory name. These batteries were supplied to Kodak and helped to power a new generation of portable devices such as tape recorders and cameras. In 1969, Duracell became the first battery on the moon as part of the Apollo 11 mission.
Duracell batteries
Duracell batteries are used mostly in everyday consumer devices and come in a wide range of different types. Whether you want to power a child’s toy, a remote control, smoke alarm, or other home gadgets, there’s likely a Duracell battery for you.
In the Duracell battery line, you can purchase alkaline batteries, Duracell rechargeable batteries, hearing aid batteries, coin batteries, and more. Duracell offers batteries in packs of four to 20 in some cases, so you can easily stock up on batteries for the whole house. For those who would rather reuse their batteries, Duracell’s rechargeable batteries are robust, long-lasting, and easy to pair with a Duracell battery charger.
Duracell battery chargers
One of the most popular types of Duracell batteries are the rechargeable ones. Many people choose a Duracell rechargeable battery thanks to their robust design and ability to hold a lot of power. Keeping a Duracell battery charger and a Duracell rechargeable battery on hand is an inexpensive way to power your household devices on an ongoing basis.
Most battery chargers from Duracell will recharge AA and AAA sizes but you can also purchase a charger that can handle C, D, and 9v cells as well. In most cases, the basic models will charge your batteries within four to eight hours and can charge two or four batteries simultaneously.
Newer models may offer faster charging times, defective battery indicators, and auto shut-off to avoid overcharging your batteries.
