One of the most important factors to consider when you are looking for a new car battery, is whether or not your vehicle is fitted with start-stop technology.

Start stop is an emission reducing technology that is featured on many modern vehicles, and as your vehicle stops at traffic lights or during queuing traffic, the engine is turned off. This constant stopping and restarting of the engine means that your battery is put under a lot of pressure and therefore requires a start-stop battery to match. EFB and AGM batteries have specific technology within their construction that allows for this constant need of starting and stopping your engine.

If your vehicle does not have start stop technology then you will need a non-start stop battery. However, if you are attaching lots of additional electronic devices to your car, an upgrade to a start stop battery that has a higher load capacity would be a good option.
